We have a drop-in centre in Truro at 19a Kenwyn Street where we can provide adults with screening for dyslexia and advice and guidance particularly to do with education, training and employment. Below you will see our Useful Information for Adults leaflet, which contains all sorts of relevant information including contacts for dyslexia trained teachers available privately.

From time to time we run courses for adult dyslexics and other events so please check the website regularly to find out about these.

We also provide Dyslexia Awareness Workshops, which are suitable for anyone working in the statutory or voluntary sector, in business, and those in education or employment services. In addition we can provide dyslexia screening services for statutory bodies, organisations and businesses.

(Half day rate £250)We can also provide workplace screenings at £60 to £80. Assessments continue to be available at our drop-in centre in Truro at £285. Dyslexia Drop-in Centre moving

The funding from the Big Lottery for our drop-in centre in Truro has now come to an end. We are seeking additional funding but so far have nothing secured. To help save money our drop-in centre is moving to 14 Lemon Street, Truro TR1 2LS and it is open with reduced hours on Wednesday,Thursdays and Fridays 10.30am to 1.30pm and Saturdays 11 to 2pm. We will continue to offer free dyslexia screenings but other services will no longer be free. Services through our CDA Consultancy are available as follows, assessment (£275-£285), dyslexia training (1/2 day rate £250)please contact enquiries@cornwalldyslexia.org.uk or phone the Drop-in centre on 01872 222911.

Spelling Course for dyslexic adults

Are you dyslexic? Do you have problems with spelling? Did you find learning to spell at school just didn't work for you? Why not come to our friendly and relaxed spelling course delivered by a specialist dyslexia trained tutor Anne Betteridge. Anne,a dyslexic qualified teacher who has a lot of experience working with adult dyslexics and who has published a book on spelling. (Chambers Adult Learners Guide to Spelling)The course will consist of six two-hour sessions and there will be a maximum of 10 people on each course.
The approach will be a relaxed one using methods that have been found to work well for dyslexic learners and will also give you a chance to meet with other adult dyslexics who face similar problems.
Price to individuals likely to be in the region of £70- £110 depending on numbers
